This is not the time…

This is not the time to be quibbling amongst ourselves. I’ve noticed a lot of posts lately about not getting caught up in the price of eggs. That this is causing us to lose focus on the bigger issues. But, was the tea tax what really caused the American Revolution? Did the French revolt because of the cost of baguettes? Trump ran on a campaign to lower the cost of living and yet thousands (maybe millions?) can’t afford to feed themselves or their families. If you’re blessed enough to focus on the bigger issues and not the price of eggs, great! Donate to or volunteer at a local foodbank (STL Folks, give PeaceMeal a try!). But please stop belittling the people who can’t focus on the other “bigger issues” because they literally can’t afford groceries.  Trump is trying to starve people so they don’t have the energy to care about the bigger things. Next, he’ll take healthcare. If we want to save our country from fascism and autocracy we have to stop allowing them to creature fissures in our united front.  Trump wins when we argue with each other. The Trump-ublicans thrive on instilling fear in people because it makes them feel more important.

I understand that the egg crisis is a bird-flu issue. But that’s not the only item that continues to rise in price. What about affordable housing? What about Pepco’s 5% electricity cost increase that affects those trying to heat their homes? I also understand that bullshit like changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico and trying to turn the Gaza strip into the Middle Eastern Riviera are smokescreens. But, if eggs become the symbol of this anti-Trump-ublican revolution, like tea once came to symbolize our OG revolution, I for one am ok with that. Let’s metaphorically egg him and those who continue to support his agenda. I don’t care what your reason is for being Anti-Trump, Anti-DOGE, or Anti-Republican as long as you’re standing up against some part of it. This is not the time to be quibbling over which part of the insanity matters the most, it all matters.
